CONTINUING EDUCATION & SUPPORT
FOR SPIRITUAL DIRECTORS
As Spiritual Directors, we help people discover God in the sacrament of the present moment. But we are not detached observers! Walking alongside and listening to others affects us, so we need a safe space to bring our interior responses, our wonderings, and our challenges.
WE ARE HONORED TO PROVIDE THIS KIND OF SPACE BY PROVIDING ONGOING SUPERVISION IN TWO FORMS
PEER GROUP SUPERVISION:
Spiritual Directors join a group of 4 guided by a facilitator to engage in peer supervision. The facilitator will provide the templates to be completed by the presenting Spiritual Director, set up the schedule, and guide the group by offering additional feedback. The group will prayerfully listen to each other in turn as each spiritual director presents once and responds three times to group members. Group members will also share contemplative exercises and insights with each other. Consultation will be provided by the facilitator as needed. The group agrees to meet for 2 hours once a month for 6 months using Zoom.
*Dates are still being set for our next group supervision cohort. Click the link below, and fill out the form to be the first to find out when dates are established.
Spiritual Directors will meet for a 1-hour session of individual supervision with a trained Supervisor. The Spiritual Director will send the Supervisor completed forms (provided by HCM) 5 days before the session. The Supervisor provides feedback, consultation, and observations either in verbal or written form.
For more information about individual supervision, contact Alice Young at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Supervision can help you process your own inner movements and grow in wisdom, on your own journey and in your practice of spiritual direction.
