Early childhood experiences form us deeply. All too often there are "gaps" in the kind of nurture we experienced. These gaps leave a lasting impact. Like a student studying algebra who never learned how to add or subtract, we can find ourselves struggling in adult life because of gaps in our developmental experiences from childhood.
"The Pathway Home" is a unique approach to spiritual direction (companionship) which uses spiritual practices, personalized creative activities, and developmental tools to guide the soul to repair, letting Jesus fill in the "gaps" and strengthen healthy attachments. It is a highly interactive, experiential, and personalized way of engaging with the Holy Spirit to deeply attach to the One who loves you most!

ABOUT SARAH HERRING
Sarah Herring, M.A., Spiritual Director, formed the beginnings of this approach to Developmental Spiritual Direction, the Pathway Home in 2011. She is currently a faculty member for the Spiritual Formation and the Art of Spiritual Direction Program with Healing Care Ministries in Ashland, OH. She resides in Redding, CA where she practices spiritual direction, creates Presence Practices, offers soul-care retreats, and trains in Developmental Spiritual Direction. Serving as a psychology professor for 25 years, leading the Spiritual Formation Department at a Christian university, and living her own journey helped shape this approach.
