The People
Dr. Terry Wardle Terry is president of Healing Care Ministries and has developed the foundational structure of formational prayer. He has authored numerous books and resources on deep inner healing, spiritual formation, and the essentials of spiritual direction. He is a professor at Ashland Theological Seminary, Director of the Institute of Formational Counseling, and leads numerous seminars and retreats on themes related to spiritual formation and formational prayer.
Dr. Anne Halley Anne received her doctorate in formational counseling from Ashland Theological Seminary and is recognized for her work in developmental healing. She teaches in the advanced formational prayer seminar and leads the HCM skill development retreats for caregivers.
Dr. Mark Ongley Mark is a Certified Formational Counselor and has pastored for over 20 years. Mark brings leadership to the Extensive Care Retreats where he also serves as a caregiver, teacher and small group specialist. Mark has also served as a caregiver/mentor at the Formational Prayer seminars.
Sarah Herring Sarah, formerly Vice President of Spiritual Formation at Simpson College, serves as a spiritual director/formational counselor for men and women seeking personalized care. She has also written devotional material used in the HCM retreats. Sarah serves as a caregiver and teacher at the retreats and on the seminar staff as a mentor/caregiver.
Destry Wardle Destry received her Master of Clinical Pastoral Counseling from Ashland Theological Seminary and serves as a caregiver and small group specialist at the Extensive Care Retreats, as well as a caregiver/mentor at the Formational Prayer seminars.
Dr. Mike Mahoney Mike is a gifted pastoral counselor who serves on our seminar staff. He also serves as a caregiver and teacher at the Extensive Care Retreats. Mike has a special calling to pastors and their spouses, and is available for individualized spiritual direction and care. Mike is the founder and president of Gates Ministries.
Dr. Sara Barber Sara is a gifted formational counselor who, after years as a psychologist, felt called of God to concentrate on the healing ministry of formational prayer. Sara serves on our staff for retreats and seminars, and is available for appointments as both spiritual director and formational counselor.
Dr. Robin Chamberlain Robin is a gifted formational counselor who serves on the HCM retreat staff. She has spent numerous years working with hurting children and is developing materials that will help caregivers integrate formational prayer into their ministries to children.
Dr. John Blalock John brings years of pastoral ministry and training as a spiritual director to the HCM retreat and seminar staff. He is a gifted servant of the Lord who has a special calling to the ministry of formational prayer.
Martha Smith Martha is completing her dissertation for the doctor of ministry degree with a concentration in formational counseling. She serves on the retreat and seminar staff and has a special interest in the process of formational prayer as it relates to developmental healing.
Lynne Lawson Lynne serves as administrative coordinator for the formational prayer and advanced formational prayer seminars. She is employed by Ashland Theological Seminary as Assistant Director of the Institute of Formational Counseling.
Lori A. Byron Lori serves HCM in various ways, particularly with the Extensive Care Retreats. She is also employed as the Program Manager of the Specialized Small Group Retreats, which is part of the Pastors of Excellence Program at Ashland Theological Seminary.
Aaron Wardle Aaron, who is employed by Ashland University as Assistant Dean of Religious Life, serves HCM seminars as worship leader and is the Treasurer of Healing Care Ministries.
